Convergence of styles in the works on display
Among the works on display, those in charge of the room have highlighted that the visitor will find a convergence of styles, ranging from the influence of the Flemish school, with special emphasis on the tenebrism of Caravaggio, to the color palettes used by Rubens, and they have explained the use of the room, which will help the permanent exhibition thanks to the reflective function that will show the different baroque trends that remained in the Valencian baroque.

Among the works presented are the “Niño Jesús de Pasión”, by Vicente Guilló, which shows an iconography created after the Council of Trent with a twilight background similar to those used by Van Dyck; “San Martín breaking the glass with the poor man” or “San Onofre” by Miguel March, in which he shows a style similar to Ribera; or the “Portrait of a Girl”, by Juan Conchillos, a female portrait of a courtly character.
For González, “the task of the museum is to properly safeguard and transmit the public collection”, and it has celebrated the heritage that the Museum of Fine Arts possesses, in addition to describing the room as being “modest but ambitious”, and has explained that in a short space of time, the museum organization has managed to present “an attractive museography” of a choral nature,
The museum’s wish is for the room to remain, “at least”, until 2022 open to the public. (January 18, 2021, EFE / PracticaEspañol)
