Aeromexico flight 4231, which started from Durango bound for the Mexican capital, crashed when it took off, leaving the majority of its 103 occupants- 99 passengers and 4 crew- injured, according to information from Mexican government.

“Within the regrettable of this event, we have no information until this moment of human losses” Conesa said at a press conference in Mexico.

The director of Aeromexico attributed the apparent absence of fatalities to “the timely action of our crew and passengers.”

Conesa said that on the plane, of the Brazilian manufacturer Embraer and with ten years of age, travelling 88 adults and eleven children, including two less than a year, in addition to the four crew, two pilots and two flight attendants.

He confirmed that the company’s emergency response team is already in Durango, a state in northern Mexico, “and it is focused on the attention of passengers.”

The airline indicated that the passengers and crew who were injured are treated in seven Durango hospitals in the health sector and in Mexican Army clinics.

Aeromexico will offer free passages to family members of passengers on flight 4231 to go to Durango, the company director explained.

Conesa has confirmed that it is still “very preliminary” to be able to point to a cause of the airplane accident and asked to avoid speculation and wait for the investigations of the Mexican authorities to begin.
