China imposes to the press an exam about Marxism.

The Chinese journalist will have to pass a national exam about Marxism and other subject defined by the government between the next January and February if they want to keep their license, according to the new law approved by the authorities in the middle of a pressing harassment to the local and foreign press.

The exam, of which depends the obtaining of the licence, condition “sine qua non” to the exercise of the journalistic profession in the country, will be about subjects like “socialism with Chinese characteristics”, “Marxist view of the journalism“,“journalistic ethics”, “information standards” or “how to prevent rumours”.

To answer successfully answer to these questions, the journalists will haveto study a manual of 700 pages that it’s sold in the Chinese libraries, and that emphasises to the journalists questions like “the prohibition to publish articles or comments against the Communist Party”.

The official journal “Global Times”, informs that around 250.000 Chinese journalist will pass by the control until march, although the State Administration of Press, Publishing, Radio and Television already warned them of the news in September and notified them that it’s required a minimal training of 18 hours.
