The Spanish Association of Family Lawyers (Aeafa) affirms divorces affect 150,000 children every year.

Aeafa is going to ask the Government to create the Family, Person and Minors jurisdiction so that divorce cases are taken to the Family Courts and promote a State pact on the family to make work conciliation a reality.

It will do it on 23rd and 24th in the days with which the Association celebrates its 25th anniversary and to which the Minister of Justice, Rafael Catalá, has been invited.

“Despite being one of the countries with greater family conflict, Spain is the state of the entire EU that less money and professional resources dedicated to the help and protection of the family,” says the president of Aeafa, María Dolores Lozano.

“Family breakups in Spain urgently require a specialized jurisdiction, independent of civil jurisdiction, only in this way we will achieve an agile and specialized resolution of divorces, making it less traumatic for children and parents.”

The family lawyers demand that the political parties sign a State pact on the family so that policies of conciliation of the effective work and family life are activated and the creation of the Jurisdiction Family, Person and Minors. (February 12, 2018, EFE/Practica Español)
