A total of 1096 headquarters of the PP distributed throughout Spain host throughout the day, from nine in the morning to half past eight in the afternoon, voting of candidates for leadership of the party and the delegates to the extraordinary congress of 20 and 21 of July.
María Dolores de Cospedal, Pablo Casado, Soraya Sáenz de Santamaría, are the three candidates with more possibilities, y José Manuel García Margallo, José Ramón García Hernández y Elio Cabanes complete the list of aspiring candidates to preside over the PP, although after the first round of today only two of them will remain.
In each of the more than one thousand headquarters that today host the vote there must be two cardboard boxes, one to vote for one of the six candidates for the Presidency and the other one to elect the delegates who will represent the membes of each territory in the conclave that will be celebrated in 15 days.
In many headquarters there will be also a third ballot box in which the New Generations will elect their delegates.
The Organizing Committee of the Congress has approved the format of the ballot to vote the candidate to lead the party. In rhe upper part is the logo of the 19 extraordinary national congress, then the date of July 5 and simple text with a box to be filled in by the person registered:
“I give my vote to… as president of the Popular Party”.
There will be also another ballot in which the members will have to fill out the names of the delegateswho vote for their constituency.
After polling stations are closed, the headquarters should count the votes and communicate them to provincial managers, who are the ones who have to report the results to the Organizing Committee of the Congress.
Among those who vote today are also the candidates themselves, and they will vote in the headquarters in which they are affiliated.
The party lives with great expectation this process has never celebrated, and there are many leaders who admit that there is nervousness against unpredictable results. (July 5, 2018, EFE /Practica Español)
