Vienna/ The only way to get there (it could not be otherwise) is on a funicular; it starts from Solden (ski station) and anscends to Gaislachkogl peak (3,048 metres) in the heart of the Austrian Alps, which is the secret agent’s museum 007, Bond: James Bond.
The futuristic museum 007 Elements jhides among the perpetual snow of the Gaislachkogl peak, precisely one of the locations of the last film of the famous secret agent James Bond: Specter (2015).
It is located at the side of the Ice Q, the restaurant located in a glass building that appeared in Specter in one of the most outstanding action scenes; its design is due to Neal Callow, artistic directo of “Casino Royale”, “Quantum of Solace”, “Skyfall” and “Specter”, the latest films of the saga.
The center, of 1,300 square meters, is of minimalist style although of concrete, glass and steel, is partially excavated in the rock, and integrated into the landscape with lights, shadows, screens, interactive technology and film sequences for a visit of an hour that comprise more than 50 years of the agent and 24 films.
You can also see the original objetcs of the saga like Jaguar C-X75 that appears in Specter or the gold pistol that Sean Connery used in “Goldfinger” (“James Bond against Goldfinger”.)
According to Callow, the intention is to immerse the interested in the Bond universe in an “elegant” and “fun” way and, like the famous agent to the service of Your Majesty, the museum will have the latest technological advances.
Some fans of the famous films of the spy have criticized the museum fot not critically adressing that aspect of Bond’s personality who, with his tuxedos, his exotic stages, his international plots and the martini vodka (mixed, not agitated) also lets see, especially in the 60s and 70s, a clea sexism in his comments and jokes.
