HEAT ALERT IS BEING KEPT UP IN 24 PENINSULAR PROVINCES

Twenty-four peninsular provinces are now on alert for high temperatures, including six (Cáceres, Badajoz, Seville, Cordoba, Jaén and Toledo), which present orange risk with up to 40 degrees, reports the State Meteorological Agency (AEMET) on its website.

In Andalusia, in addition to the three provinces at orange risk, there is yellow alert by heat in Granada and Huelva, while in Cadiz there is risk by East wind in the Strait, that can arrive at force 7.

In Castilla la Mancha, there is orange risk in Toledo, where the thermometer can reach 40 degrees, and in yellow alert, the provinces of Ciudad Real, Cuenca and Guadalajara.

In Extremadura, the orange alert for maximum temperatures of 40 degrees and minimum above 20 or 22 degrees extends to both Badajoz and Cáceres.

The high temperatures also put yellow in risk to provinces of other autonomous communities like Madrid, the four Catalan provinces, as well as Ávila, Salamanca, Segovia, Valladolid and Zamora, in Castile and Leon, in addition to the three Aragonese provinces.
