HEAT

Statements by the spokesman from the State Agency of Meteorology (Aemet), Rubén del Campo, on the heat wave in Spain. During the next six days, the heat wave will leave extreme temperatures in the Peninsula and the Balearic Islands, with values which will reach up to 40 degrees, although in areas of the south, center and valley of the Ebro will exceed those values, which will be between 5 and 10 degrees above normal for this time of year.

The Agency has activated red, orange and yellow alerts in forty provinces of thirteen autonomous communities, being Badajoz the province that will be with red warning and extreme risk for temperatures, which will reach 44 degrees.

The rise of thermometers will be recorded in much of the Peninsula, and in many areas of the south, center and valley of the Ebro will exceed 40 degrees.

The spokesman from Aemet has warned that the minimum will also be abnormally high in the Peninsula and the Balearic Islands, and will not fall below 25 degrees in large areas of the southwest quadrant of the peninsula.
