Robert Francis Kennedy Jr., son of the senator and candidate for the US presidency, Robert Kennedy, assassinated in 1968, has ruled in Seville (Spain) a process of impeachment against President Donald Trump, given the great support he maintains among the Republican electorate.
Republican congressman, Justin Amash, has been in favour of opening a process of impeachment against U.S. President Donald Trump if pressures are shown to former FBI Director James Comey to abandon the investigation of one of his advisers by their links with Russia.
Amash, a congressman for Michigan, answered yes when the press asked him at the Washington Capitol about whether it would be necessary to open a political trial for Trump’s alleged obstruction of justice.
Kennedy Jr., a lawyer and environmental activist, has explained that although Trump “does not like” many Republican leaders “who think he has downgraded politics,” voters in this party “worship him” and Republican leaders “will not go against its own electorate.”
“They are not going to make a recall process because their electoral base supports them and the Republicans can not lose that electorate,” added the nephew of the assassinated U.S. president. John Fitzgerald Kennedy.
In his view, pressure on former FBI director James Comey to paralyze investigation on Russia “may be technically irregular, but not legally illegal.”
“Although these facts were true, they are not a crime of obstruction to the Justice because there is no open judicial process nor parliamentary appearances in march,” he explained.
For Kennedy Jr., “it will be very difficult to get Trump removed from the presidency.”
U.S. President Donald Trump has denounced Twitter’s “greatest witch hunt” against a politician “in US history,” following the appointment of a special prosecutor, former FBI Director Robert Mueller, to oversee the investigation into the alleged Russian interference in the elections and possible links with his campaign.
