IN WHICH CITY OF U.S. IS SPOKEN MORE SPANISH?

Hialeah, a neighbouring town of Miami, is the most Hispanic city and in which is spoken more Spanishin United States, to a study by WalletHub, an electronic payment company.

For this study about U.S. cultural diversity, 501 cities of varying sizes were considered and three key indicators were used to determine whether or not they were diverse: ethnic and racial origin, language and place of birth.

According to census projections, Hialeah, which had more than 237,000 inhabitants in 2015, predominantly of Cuban origin, to the point that it is often called the “second most populous city” of Cuba, is ranked 498 on the list in terms of cultural diversity.

Only other three cities are less diverse, but Hialeah, located in Miami-Dade County, is the number one throughout the country as a percentage of Hispanic inhabitants (95.64%).

Besides, it is where a greater percentage of neighbours speak Spanish (92.25%), making this one of the least diverse in the United States from a linguistic viewpoint.

WalletHub emphasized as presentation of the report that the United States is today a melting pot of cultures “thanks to the rapid ethnic and racial diversification in the last four decades.”
