Isabella Rodriguez, Miss Venezuela (to have the right)

The voice of the current Miss Venezuela, Isabella Rodriguez, who wants things to improve in her country. Her hope is intact despite having been assaulted with a firearm, having to overcome the shortage of food and after having dismissed in tears two brothers who fled the economic crisis.

As seldom happens, the representative of the beauty in the country that most values this aspect is an accurate reflection of the national reality and from the favela in which she has always lived, 60 steps closer to heaven, the 25-year-old brunette woman spoke with EFE on how she wants the crown to have a positive impact on her community.

Rodriguez protested in the streets of Caracas on January 23, as other hundreds of thousands of citizens, against the economic crisis, the same that made her separate from her two brothers who left for Peru in search of better opportunities like millions of Venezuelans in recent years.

Without speaking specifically of the tension between the Executive and the Legislature of her country -which are not recognized among them- Rodriguez believes that “very soon” Venezuela will emerge from the austerity of the last five years, characterized by shortages of food and medicines, insecurity and hyperinflation.

The queen of beauty hasn’t escaped what these indicators translate into everyday life because on more than one occasion she has asked her parents “What do you eat today?” Due to the high cost of food that can be obtained and just three months ago he was the victim of an armed assault in his own community.
