The voice of Juan Guaido, head of the Parliament of Venezuela and self-proclaimed interim president in the country, who on Monday assured “there is no possibility of civil war” in Venezuela because – he said – the president Nicolas Maduro “doesn’t have the strength” of the people and of the military.
“Some make it appear, especially to the international press, that here in Venezuela there is the possibility of a civil war (but), here there is no possibility of civil war, and there is no possibility for an element: 90% of the country wants change”, said Guaido during a meeting with young people at the Metropolitan University of Caracas.
Guaido tries to dismantle Chavez’s discourse that his actions can lead to a “civil war” by pointing out that in Venezuela “there is no possibility of a people-to-people confrontation” because “Maduro is isolated, he is alone, he has no popular support, it does not have ideological agglutination around him “.
“90% is mobilized in favour of peace, 90% of the country believes in the reunion,” he insisted.
In that sense, he said that Maduro “every day flaunts” of internal support that does not have, such as the military.

Then, read translation of the transcription:
“There is no possibility of a confrontation between people and people and the reason is quite simple. Maduro is isolated, he is alone, he doesn’t have support of the people, he doesn’t have an ideological agglutination around him, neither he raises a cause or he has raised no cause. That is, it’s simply to keep and to protect his privileges, and even your environment knows that Maduro doesn’t even protect the privileges of his environment. In other words, nobody would be willing to do anything for Nicolas Maduro, to sacrifice himself or to die for someone who is not willing to attend to them or to protect them.”

porque no ha enarbolado ninguna causa.
