Juan Guaido, Venezuela

The voice of Juan Guaido, head of the Venezuelan Parliament, who on Thursday, January 23, proclaimed himself president of Venezuela and left in check the government of Nicolas Maduro.

Guaido challenged Maduro by offering the final speech of a massive opposition demonstration in Caracas, calling for an end to the “usurpation” of the Presidency by Maduro and the pressing political and economic crisis the nation is going through.

Amid cries of joy, Guaido said he took this “step” to “achieve the cessation of the usurpation, (to install) a transitional government and have free elections,” the motto which has been made since the spotlight aimed at the encumbered in the Head of the Chamber.

The self-proclamation of Guaido is another chapter of the severe political and economic crisis that Venezuela is going through, and the greatest act of ignorance that anti-Chavez has done to the Maduro government.
