San Sebastián/The city council of San Sebastián has launched an advertising campaign to promote “a respectful and suistanable tourism” in the months of greatest influx of visitors, with a serie of recommendations to enjoy “taking into account that their stay can alter daily life of the people from San Sebastián.”
“Love San Sebastián. Live Donostia” is the main slogan of the new promotion, which has been presented by the mayor of the city and the councilor of Impulso Económico.
The mayor has said that the tourist campaign “affects respect and coexistence” and at the same time that “welcomes” those who arrive in the city at this time, seeks that their “experience” in the Guipuzcoan capital “be satisfactory , both for the one who comes and for the one who is”.
The mayor has clarified, to questions from journalists, that the initiative does not arise as a result of “turistophobic campaigns” of last year but to “respond” to “a general feeling” that “there may be” among the inhabitants that “the greater affluence” of visitors in these dates “can disturb his normal life”.
