Martín Vizcarra (political situation in Venezuela)

The voice of the president of Peru, Martín Vizcarra, in his visit to Spain to jointly deal with the political situation that is being experienced in Venezuela.

 

The president of Peru, Martín Vizcarra, has defended in the Congress and the Senate that his country and Spain maintain their collaboration in support of Juan Guaidó to achieve the restoration of democracy in Venezuela against the current government of Nicolás Maduro “that oppresses his people”.

Vizcarra has emphasized that “a government that oppresses its people by perpetuating itself in power, can not have the appreciation of those who believe in freedom and progress and in the unrestricted respect for the constitutional order that emanates from the popular will.”

The Peruvian president has continued his speech appealing to jointly promote the restoration of democracy in Venezuela through “the early call for free, fair and credible presidential elections, under observation of international standards.”

He has also expressed his concern over the serious humanitarian crisis that affects Venezuelans and has caused about 700,000 have moved to Peru.
