On Monday, Spanish Head of Goverment Mariano Rajoy arrived in Washington to meet with U.S. President Donald Trump on Tuesday at the White House.
The Spanish Air Force plane in which Rajoy travelled to the U.S. capital with the rest of his delegation landed at the Andrews base after 19:15 hours (23:15 GMT).
From the airport, Rajoy moved to the place where he spent the night at Trump’s invitation.

Today, it will be the appointment with Trump and it is planned to analyse bilateral relations in various fields and international issues such as cooperation in the fight against terrorism, the threats of North Korea and the situation in Venezuela.
The situation in Catalonia is not part of the agenda of the meeting, although it will be a matter to which both will refer, if not in their interview, certainly in the later press conference that they will jointly offer.
Yesterday, the Spanish Defence Minister, Maria Dolores de Cospedal, revealed in Washington that during a meeting with her U.S. counterpart, James Mattis, at a bilateral forum in Williamsburg, Virginia, support of the Trump administration to the defence of the rule of law and of the legality that believes that the Government is doing in Catalonia.
Rajoy will go to the White House for the second time after the interview he had with Barack Obama in January 2014, and tries to prove to Trump that Spain wants to be a preferred ally of the United States.
Besides, in the interview, it will be addressed the cooperation in defence both bilateral and within the framework of NATO, where Trump has been claiming European partners increased spending.
The Spanish Government assures that the U.S. administration is aware that Spain is striving to fulfil the commitment made by the members of the Atlantic Alliance to devote 2 percent of GDP to defence spending by 2024. (September 26, 2017, EFE/Practica Español)
