SPAIN IS ON ALERT FOR RAIN, SNOW, SWELL AND WIND

Spain is on alert, orange or yellow, for snow, heavy swell, wind gust and intense rains that in Valencia, a Spanish community that celebrates the first Fallas as a World Heritage Site,will leave 100 liters per square meter in 12 hours.

 


Due to the storm, Valencia City Council has suspended mascletà midday this Monday, March 13 for safety and it has recommended that it be waited for the night of March 15 for plantá.

Alicante and Valencia are on orange alert (important risk) for rains with a cumulative precipitation of 100 liters per square meter in 12 hours, due to snowfall in areas of the interior that will leave 2/5 centimeters thick, by strong gusts of wind up to 90 kilometers by hour and by waves that will reach between 4 and 5 meters.

In the province of Castellón, there is orange alert for snowfall of 5 centimeters of thickness in areas of the interior, in a figure nearer to the 1.000 / 1.200 meters.

Murcia, the Canary Islands, Aragon, Asturias, Cantabria, and Castilla-La Mancha are in orange alert too.

Castilla y León, Barcelona and Girona in Catalonia, A Coruña and Lugo (Galicia), the city of Melilla and the communities of Madrid, Navarra, Extremadura, the Balearic Islands, Basque Country and La Rioja are in yellow alert.
