The White House today denied the imminence of an attack against the government of Syrian President Bachar Al Asad and insisted that the president of the United States, Donald Trump, is still evaluating some of the “other options” that he has at his disposal.
“It’s not the only option, there are other options on the table,” White House spokeswoman Sarah Huckabee Sanders said during a press conference.
On Monday, Trump said it would take between 24 and 48 hours to decide on a possible military response to Syria for the chemical attack allegedly carried out by forces near the government against the population of Duma, which killed at least 43 people.
Despite the fact that this deadline has already been met, Sanders assured that the president has not established a specific “window of time” and pointed out that Trump met with his Security advisers this morning to study all the “possibilities”.
These statements come after the president himself threatened through his personal Twitter account, both to Syria and Russia, with a missile attack “soft and new and smart!” (April 11, 2018, EFE/Practica Español)
