The fans of Real Madrid took the streets of the capital of Spain to celebrate a new title of the white team, in this case the thirteenth European Cup won against Liverpool (3-1) in Kiev.
It was a long night of collective joy which had its epicenter, as usual, at Plaza de Cibeles.
Thousands of fans moved there from shortly after the final whistle to enjoy a great atmosphere and join their voices in honor of the white team, which has won the title for the third time in a row.
Surrounded by the statue, which gives its name to the square, by a strong police device and by access controls to avoid incidents, those who acceded to the place were grouped around it and also occupying the adjacent arteries.
As it could not be otherwise, white became the predominant color thanks to the scarves, t-shirts and flags that most of the attendees wore.
Many of them also took the opportunity to take pictures, selfies and even walk cardboard replicas of the trophy.
This was how an urban mosaic was drawn to which the throats of the most dedicated people put sound. Among the chants there were for all including also memories towards the greatest rivals, Barcelona and Atlético de Madrid.
Thus the traditional ‘Champions, champions‘ alternated with the anthem of the club and with some songs that are usually heard in the stands of the Santiago Bernabéu when the team acts as host in their meetings.
As for the proper names, there were two that monopolized almost all the attention. One of them was the French coach Zinedine Zidane, who returned to add another triumph to his palmarés on the benches.
The other the Portuguese forward Cristiano Ronaldo, protagonist from Ukraine to let glimpse a possible departure of the entity. At the start of the evening some showed their willingness to continue seeing him in white singing ‘Christian stay’.
All this was the height of a day of great intensity from early in the morning, with the Real Madrid followers fighting the nerves as they could and then following the clash each in its own way.
The houses and bars were the predominant options although some could enjoy the duel in the same stadium through eight giant screens located on the green. (May 27, 2018, EFE/Practica Español)
