It’s recorded moderate and strong explosions by the Volcano of Fire in Guatemala which made vibrate the houses of villages located six kilometers, reports the Institute of Seismology, Volcanology, Meteorology and Hydrology (INSIVUMEH) in the country in a special bulletin.
In that bulletin, the Institute recommends that the General Directorate of Civil Aviation of Guatemala take precautions with air traffic in the western area of the volcano, due to the presence of ash at 15,420 feet (4,700 meters high).
According to INSIVUMEH, the increase in the last hours of the eruptive activity of the volcano – is located about 50 kilometers from the capital of Guatemala and is one of the most active in Central America – is focuses in incandescent pulses up to 200 meters high over the crater, which feed lava flows about 700 meters long.
These flows of lava – the bulletin adds – are directed towards the Ash Canyon, although the colossus also registers “moderate and strong” explosions that emanate an ash column, that reaches the 4,700 meters of height above the level of the sea and moves to About 12 kilometers west and southwest.
The explosions generate “rumbles and shock waves vibrating houses in villages of Panimache, Morelia, Panimache II, located 6 kilometers from the volcano.”
