Los Angeles / In its third week in showing, “Jumanji: Welcome to the jungle” has reached the first place in the US box office with an estimated income of 36 million dollars (29.9 million euros).
The film, a continuation of the classic in 1990s carried out by Robin Williams, has raised near 520 million dollars (432 million Euros) anywhere in the world and it is going away to release in other countries like China or Japan.
Dwayne Johnson, Jack Black, Kevin Hart, Karen Gillan and Nick Jonas star in the film, which had a budget of 90 million dollars (74.7 million euros).
The premiere of the horror film “Insidious: The Last Key” took second place with 29.3 million dollars (19.3 million euros), a mark higher than the debut of the previous installment of the saga, with 22, 6 million (18.7 million euros).
Directed by Adam Robitel with a budget of about 10 million dollars (831,058 euros), Lin Shaye, Angus Sampson, Leigh Whannell and Spanish Javier Botet are in the cast of the film.
In the third place appears “Star Wars: Episode VIII – The Last Jedi“, with 23.6 million dollars (19.6 million euros).
Written and directed by Rian Johnson, the film has a cast led by Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Adam Driver, Daisy Ridley and Puerto Rican Benicio Del Toro.
The film, the eighth of the franchise, has raised more than 1,205 million dollars (1,001 million euros) worldwide
