Palma / The King and Queen of Spain Felipe VI and Letizia continue their tour of the different Spanish regions that today takes them to the Balearic Islands, after having visited the Canary Islands.
The same as in the Canary Islands, the King and Queen meet in the Balearic Islands with representatives of businessmen and unions from that autonomous community, as well as from hotel associations and federations.
The meetings of Felipe VI and Doña Letizia with businessmen, unions and hoteliers are held at the Iberostar Cristina hotel, located on the Arenal beach.
Upon arrival at this hotel, accompanied by the Minister of Industry, Commerce and Tourism, Reyes Maroto, they were received by the president of the Balearic community, Francina Armengol, and both attended the king and queen’s meeting with the social partners.
The King and Queen met with the social agents and hoteliers on the hotel terrace and near the swimming pool where some clients of the establishment taking part in a pilot program for the accommodation of German tourists after the pandemic bathed.
Among others, the meeting with the king and queen of Spain was attended by the president of the businessmen of the community, Carmen Planas; the general secretary of the UGT in the Balearic Islands, Alejandro Texías; and the Secretary of Communication and Institutional of CCOO, Francesc Mellado. Also the presidents of the hotel federations of the various islands.

The consequences of the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic are the focus of these meetings of the King and Queen and of the contacts with institutions and groups on their tour of Spain to convey to all the agents affected their support once the state of alarm has ended.
A tour that began last Tuesday in the Canary Islands, where, like this Thursday in Palma, they intend to promote tourism after the difficult time it is going through due to the coronavirus.
