This conference, which will take place at Ifema (Trade Fair Institution of Madrid) in collaboration with “Plataforma del Español-Madrid Network”, promoted by the Region of Madrid, will gather the different economic sectors linked to this language, according to Ifema´s press release.
Spanish language is the base of a programme, starting on Thursday 23rd, that will combine the business sector with a set of activities which will revolve around three subjects: culture, translation and language tourism.
“Spanish, a Global Alternative” is the motto of this first edition of the “economic” forum, where language is taken as an economic asset. The aim is to offer a clear vision about the wide dimension of this language and its productive ability.
The forum counts on the support of the main institutions promoting cultural and economic values and the internationalization of the Spanish language: Real Academia Española (RAE; Royal Spanish Academy), “Instituto Cervantes”, universities of Salamanca, Alcalá, CSIC (Spanish National Research Council) and the “Centro Regional para el Fomento del Libro en América Latina y el Caribe (CERLALC; intergovernmental institution promoting books and reading).
