Cristian Palomo and Melisa Sacchi, both of Buenos Aires, are the new world champions of Tango, in the category of dance floor, the most popular form of this dance born on the banks of the Río de la Plata.
The winners are imposed to more than 2,000 dancers from of places of all the world and 40 couples finalists.
“Trial hours, hours of work, lack of money, dance with shoes arranged and pasted it because it cost invest, and fight it with a single suit, wash it well y…: happen this things, “get these moments of happiness”, said the champion.
“Everything was shaking me, it was amazing, I couldn’t really believe it,” said, for its part, the champion, who she added that the month of sacrifice and of work, “inexplicably hard”, becomes the award “a hug to the soul”.
The couple of dancers meet them in a milonga, began to dance of way professional four years ago, won the second since in the previous Edition and, now, will enjoy of an award in metallic of almost 4,000 dollars (60,000 pesos), in addition to a trip to Paris, between others gifts.
The end of the competition, in the Luna Park Stadium, had an important participation of Argentina, but also from Colombia, Venezuela, Italy, Russia, Korea of the South and Holland, among others.
The performance of María Graña – one of the most important female singers in the history of the tango – and the guitarist Esteban Morgado is rewarded with one of the most sound applause of the event.
Tango, the dance par excellence of Argentina and Uruguay, was designated Intangible Cultural heritage of humanity by Unesco in 2009.
