THE VENEZUELAN ATTORNEY GENERAL DENOUNCES “STATE TERRORISM”

Caracas / Venezuelan Attorney General, Luisa Ortega Díaz, denounced that in her country there is “state terrorism” and rebelled against the Supreme Court, which froze her bank accounts, forbbiden her to leave the country and agreed to prosecute her on July 4.

The official reproached President Nicolás Maduro for his accusations of terrorism against a “percentage of the country” and she denounced that “the right to protest was lost”, protesters are repressed and “civilians are prosecuted in military justice” in the Caribbean nation under his government.

The head of the judiciary, Maikel Moreno, also denounced that this instance is “under terrorist threat”, and therefore called the representatives of all powers to an emergency meeting to address this issue and to prevent an escalation of violence in middle of the crisis.

This statement comes a day after a police officer stole a helicopter with which he flew over the centre of Caracas and fired and launched grenades against the headquarters of the Supreme and the Ministry of Interior.

The aircraft, which was used for this attack, was already localized but so far there are no detainees, so the government remains behind the agent and sent an international red alert against him.

Meanwhile, the Venezuelan opposition cut dozens of roads on Wednesday across the country for four hours to reject the eventual change of Constitution promoted by the Executive.

These demonstrations ended with several people arrested and wounded, including one deputy, while several concentrations were dispersed by the police.

The Office of the Prosecutor has confirmed that two people died on Wednesday in events related to the wave of demonstrations, which brings to 78 the total number of fatalities that this body manages.
