France has arrested two alleged terrorists today for the “savage” attack, in the words of the President of the Republic, that about 10 o’clock local time suffered a group of soldiers next to the Louvre Museum in Paris, one of the most visited in the world.

The events took place today about 10 am, local time, when a man with a machete in hand moved through the square of Carrousel in the direction of the Louvre and he rushed against a group of police and military with the cry of “Allah is great.”

The attacker, whose identity has not yet been revealed, slightly wounded a soldier in the head but received five shots, one in the belly, from another of the group’s military that reacted to the attack.

French President, François Hollande, issued a statement congratulating the military who suffered the attack and stressed “the courage and determination shown” to “neutralize the attacker.”

The wounded soldier is part of the first regiment of parachutists stationed in Paris within the reinforced security device operative for the jihadist attacks that the country has suffered since 2015.

Servicemen was treated at the Percy hospital in the neighbouring town of Clamart, while the alleged terrorist was transferred to the Georges Pompidou hospital with a reserved forecast.

The police prefecture of Paris has indicated that the aggressor had “at least one white weapon” and two backpacks in which no explosives were found.

Evacuation in the Louvre and Orsay Museum

Action took place in the esplanade that is in front of the Museum of the Louvre, before this could entered into adjoining underground commercial gallery.

Más de un millar de personas fueron evacuadas de los Museos del Louvre y Orsay y se limitó la circulación de la estación de la línea de metro 7 Palais Royal.

French Prime Minister Bernard Cazenueve said that “apparently” the attack has a “terrorist character”.

Interior Minister, Bruno Le Roux, who was visiting the department of Dordogne (southwest), moved up his return to Paris.

The Interior Ministry said that at the moment “we must be extremely cautious about the motivation of the individual” whose investigation is in the hands of the Paris Antiterrorist Prosecutor.

The Office of the Prosecutor is investigating the case for “aggravated attempts assassinations in connection with terrorism and criminal terrorist association” and the alleged relationship of another person, arrested after the attack and whose identity has not been facilitated either.

The mayoress of Paris, Anne Hidalgo, emphasized the professionalism of the forces of order and transmitted the solidarity of the city to those agents, who “have allowed to detain a dangerous person.”
