Washington / At least 59 people were killed and 527 wounded in a shooting in a concert in Las Vegas (Nevada) on Sunday. It is the deadliest shooting in U.S. history.
Stephen Paddock, a 64-year-old white man, opened fire from his 32-room suite at the Mandalay Bay Hotel in Las Vegas and he did it against a crowd of more than 22,000 people who were attending a country festival concert on the street.
Police found him dead in his room after the massacre with 10 rifles, but for the moment he has not confirmed the type of weapon he used. It is thought that it’ an automatic or semi-automatic weapon because of the recordings in the event.
Paddock had been staying at the hotel since September 28 and, last night, he broke the bedroom window and began shooting indiscriminately at the crowd who enjoyed a concert down the street.
The authorities have not given any clue on the motive of the event. They rule out any link with an international terrorist group and claim that there is not even a police record of the attacker. (October 3, 2017, EFE/Practica Español)
