“When I knew all the answers they changed all the questions…”

Uncertainty and change are the rule in our life, not the exception. That is why a poster of the seventies is regularly reprinted, in which appears a primate on a pensive attitude next to the legend: “When I knew all the answers they changed all the questions…”

Uncertainty is something intrinsic for the evolution of – natural- things and removing from our lives and fighting against it is a mistake”, Italian psychologist Roberto Crobu, author of “Way to Change”, said to EFE.

However, it is not the same “to lead our lives in uncertainty” (LLU) than “to lead uncertainty in our lives” (LUL), because it is not the same trying to keep us “afloat” than “determining a way and keeping it in mind no matter what”.

“Leading uncertainty in our lives is driven by eagerness, desire to learn and improve, and self-determination. We have to take the risks of making decisions and the possibility of getting it wrong, as a requirement – sometimes necessary – of personal growth’s learning”, the expert explained.

“What do we prefer: a chance to get wrong while we are fighting against what we don’t want or a chance to get wrong in order to get what we want…?” psychologist asked.

Taking control of our lives in a uncertain and discouraging environment requires “focusing on what we can control now and on what we can do right now to control it, instead of worrying about what will happen in the future”, according to Crobu.

It is always preferable to give a chance to what we want to get than “to our own fears”, Crobu ended.
